    CA compliant AK underfolder question

I understand that the folding stock needs to be fixed. When I purchased my century arms yugo underfolder the previous owner had already done this.

Now does the actual part that you place onto your shoulder need some type of special modification as well? I had an FFL tell me that in order for me to do a PPT that the shoulder part itself would too need a modification that would not allow it to fold.

This is very confusing since there is literally ZERO information about this literally anywhere online so I'm asking here as a last resort.

    Thanking you in advance,

    - Jon

Find another FFL. Moving just the buttplate doesn't reduce the overall length.

Thanks for the quick reply. My thought exactly, I'll be calling around tomorrow morning once everyone is back open.

      Cheers,

It's common to weld the butt plate as well when fixing a stock that is otherwise a folder, mostly so that it's more solid and does not try to fond on you as you are manipulating the rifle.
I have welded lots of UZI and Ak folder stocks into fixed stocks.

I'd prefer a maglatch fixed mag to a welded folder, myself.
