I just put the MI hand guard on mine. So far I like it, it seems to balance better for me with the longer hand guard. There is a rumor that Ruger may make the hand guard they are using on the free float version as an accessory, in the not too distant future.

Also there is a huge thread here http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1411816 that talks about many of the add on's.

Unless you're in a big rush, I'd hold off to see if Ruger comes out with it and what the price point is. I wouldn't be surprised if they undercut the competition, then again given the price of their takedown bag maybe not.

Currently, the Ruger free float MLOK aluminum handguard is not being sold separately and is only available on the PC Carbine 19116 & 19117 models.

Looks like the barrel touches the handguard.

I recently installed the MI hand guard. It fits reasonably well considering it's on a TD rifle. Looks much better than stock, feels comfortable and it appears to be well made and of good quality. USA made too.
I got tired of waiting for Magpul to come out with one. I ordered mine from Optics Planet with a discount code found in the deals section.
