    Firearms owners form

I understand that there is a form that when submitted to the Gov. will tell you what firearms you are on record of owning
Has anyone used this are there any repercussions

That would be nice to see I guess... but I can't imagine it would be any different that what I think it says. I'm curious as to what you find out here.
Buy made in USA whenever possible.

Yes it is checked by vicap and marshals service and if you have warrants they will come and get you. Also never submit dna if from south of mason dixon line some of your family will owe a ton of child support.

Never willingly place yourself on California's radar. Not with the schmucks that run this place.

            Ahem.

We could try to actually answer the question, y'know.

There is a paper form you can submit - https://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/a...ateCitizen.pdf - and I believe one can make the request through CFARS - https://cfars.doj.ca.gov/login.do - but I'm not a CFARS user.

By repute, this is a very low priority task for CADOJ, so It Can Take A While.

Automated Firearms System records are known to be inaccurate in places.

Unless you have just been added to the Armed Prohibited Persons (APP) file, there is no known 'repercussion' for asking.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Because the California DOJ is known for their openness, honesty and integrity.

It's not the known repercussions that should concern you, but rather the unknown repercussions.

The process is a bit of a PITA. Once you get the form notarized and in the mail, prepare to wait until you forget that you sent for it.

Mine lists to two pistols that were stolen in the 80s. It’s a wildly inaccurate document.

If there are repercussions, they are the unknown kind.

The report does not list what you currently own. It lists what you ever owned.

At least in my report it only lists what is currently in my California DoJ file, not guns I sold through California FFLs/DROS after previously buying via California FFL/DROS.

I used paper form https://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/a...ateCitizen.pdf Notarized it at my bank for free and waited for four months to get DOJ to send me Firearms Records form. It is not entirely accurate, mine included information on some guy and his gun, unrelated to me or my guns at all. But, it will tell you what government thinks you own, more recent records are more accurate on the form.

My lawyer got it for me and it was not really accurate as they missed 2 that were bought at Turners.

If you plan on ever carrying w/o a permit, keep in mind its a california felony to carry an unregistered gun.

It was interesting the 2 that were not registered were exclusively carry type guns . go figure!
