Why not, Trump said he does not like suppressors.

But Trump can be reasoned with logic. He is not weapon or gun savvy, he thinks suppressors are silencers just like the media does.

He can and will Listen to experts and see that there really is no there there. At times he like the rest of the world will speak of what they are ignorant about. But unlike most politicians, he can be swayed with facts.

I agree that name calling isn't the way to get your message out. I seriously doubt this is going to pass, but if it does, the question becomes "will Trump sign it?" Based on his track record with the 2A so far, I don't have much confidence in him. It's a long shot, but given recent events, it isn't impossible for this to pass.
