    Nystagmus Test.
    1) Know what your eyes are doing under the strain of focusing on the front sight.

    2) Check & Establish eye dominance.

    3) Explain to the group, no not that group with the severe adult beverage restrictions, the difference
between 'Sight Alignment' and 'Sight Picture' in less than 40 words each.

    4) Pick a distance, target size, gun, ammo, and change nothing.

    5) Don't spend another penny on buying shiny objects until you can consecutively & easily hit 9:10 soda
can size targets at 7 yards within 3 minutes.

    6) Put a small piece of tape over your rear sight. Shoot at a baseball size target at 13 or so yards. Check results.

    7) If you have an 'Engineering Type Personality' and you think you are doing everything correctly then rest easy. You are not.
Have wife or GF film your shooting up close and personal. Focus on the eyes, trigger finger, grip stance, and...And where was the
end of barrel actually pointed when the pistol fired.

    8) When shooting the gun, get very close to the camera. Otherwise you won't see or believe what you are actually doing.

What you describe sounds completely normal IF you're shooting with both eyes open. The trick that you learn in the dry fire is to automatically recognize which of the double vision items are "the right ones."

If you're shooting with just one eye open, then my guess would be that there is something wrong with your vision, but I am certainly not an optometrist.

If you normally shoot pistol with both eyes open and your shots start to veer-off to the left,
then close non dominate eye & keep it closed while shooting until your shooting improves.

        Exercise:
        ~ten yards
        8x11 sheet of paper
draw half inch line down the middle
hit the line any way and any where you can
        take your time.

When you start seeing double where you were not seeing double a minute ago...That is eye strain.

          Check out Mr. Nystagmus.
