    Mail Order ammunition...

Apologies if this has been asked/answered before ... if so a link would be appreciated.

I've just made my 'last' mail order ammo purchase prior to the 1 July deadline. With background checks coming up I'm wondering how this will affect mail order purchases. My local FFL is not aware of any applicable guidelines.

There is no "pre qualification" mechanism, so I guess it's going to be a crap shoot whether you pass the background check and can pick up your ammunition ... or not.

Has anyone heard anything about this?

When did they add a day to June? Did I miss that memo too?

No year stated, not that there is a June 31st to start with.

Similar question, what if you are looking for a reduction in shipping costs by ordering say..2k of ammo - I assume the receiving dealer will have to partial out your ammo to in 500 increments over 4 months?
If the answer is yes, who in their mind would take the responsibility of inventorying all of that .

There is an ongoing thread here at CG about the new ammo law. It should answer your questions:

              -p
? "If you want nice fresh oats, you have to pay a fair price. If you are satisfied with oats that have already been through the horse, well, that comes a little cheaper."

Right - this is a 'CA Law' question, so it should go to the CA Law forum.

That sticky thread is dedicated to ammo law questions and answers.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
