Don't know about the legality of it, but I have seen stores have different policies about PPTs, such as hours conducted.

The big5 close to me is a joke. I called for a appointment. Told to call later and ask for manager. Called later and spoke to the manager. She told me she didnt know when I could come in. Omg really? She says, yes really.
I not set foot in my local big five since. Place is a joke.

Just curios, why would you got to a Big 5 for PPT?
Is there not a pawn shop, Turners, Rifle Gear, independent gun store or Ammo Brothers near you?

I have no idea how many guns Big 5 sales, but it can not be very many - I think I would go to a store that is more familiar with and focused on gun sales. Just my .02

Just to note: Big 5 seems not to sell handguns, so they would be exempt from handling a handgun PPT.

OP did not mention what thing would have been transferred.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Just call and find out when proper person will be there never a mention of appointment in SFv or over the hill. OP is it PPT or transfer? Different transactions. PPT dros ?

They usually only have certain people who can do any firearms related items. Just call.

They were rifles. A bolt gun and a Ruger 10/22

Well, since your location is a secrete, no one can recommend a real gun shop that would be glad to help you out.
Research shops in your area, or post your location for some recommendations.
Big 5 is not generally considered a high ranking, go to place, but if they're friendly and cooperative, go for it.

Ya we made an appointment. Just frustrated. Shops used to not do appointment only ppt. And the ones I have done in the last year or so I’ve had to go down to Sacramento because not everyone is doing black rifles
