During my conversation with the agent about the whole CA issue. He asked if I were willing to come to his office and make them CA legal. Of course I jumped on the suggestion and said I only needed 5 sec per rifle to make CA compliant. I also offered to show him how to pull the take down pins, if he wanted to address them himself.

I am hoping he wasn't just yanking my chain....
That's actually pretty cool they'd even offer the chance to make them compliant. Doesn't make everything better, but it's a start.

One suggestion. If you're not able to work things out, see if they can be shipped to an out of state FFL for the compliance work and/or sale. Audiophil here on Calguns is one such FFL that offers those types of services.

The reason for the seizures were legal, and the OP was caught up in someone else's issues.

Update- for those that are interested.

I hadn't heard from the DHS agent since my last post here in August, so I reached out to him yesterday.

He said he had not heard from the USAG officially, but it doesn't look good for me. He sad they have a "note" in their file from one of the agents that I admitted to being a pot smoker, therefore I am a restricted person now.

I'm like WTF! I reminded him that I declined to be interviewed that day without legal counsel present. My wife and I were detained for 8 hrs without food or water. I eventually became ill because my blood sugars dropped, so one them escorted us to the restroom and to get some snacks from the pantry.

To be fair, they did say we could leave, but could not return until they were finished. Like I'm going to leave 30+ strangers alone in my home. They had already disconnected all twelves of my cameras, so there would be no record of what was going on.

You know, throughout all this I still raised my flag daily, because I believed in our justice system. I still believed, even when my family member was convicted and sent to prison. But I think it will come down when this is over and NEVER be raised again.

I couldn't find your explanation of the warrant from 2017. Did you ever explain that ?

OP..Your rosy picture paints a scene, & that you were not the target, but your (not somebody else's) property was seized on no grounds (unlawfully stolen).

If you are in the right, & they are in the wrong, why not sue for damages & restitution, also anguish & stress from health complications.

Don't know for sure you can do this, but why not see if you can go big or go home ? If a Democrat can do it, so can you.. right ?

If you've been keeping up with the news and seen what the Feds did to POTUS, not to mention Carter Page, then you'll know the USDOJ has no shortage of dirtbags.

Thank you all for the words of encouragement. It's been a roller coaster of emotions for the past 2-1/2 years for my family. Not just about my property, but everything that has happened.

I just received a call from the (DHS) special agent yesterday. He informed me that my petition has been approved. He said he will contact me when the holding facility in Long Beach has my property ready for transfer. He plans to transfer them directly to me.

Now, I would be lying if I said i wasn't a little excited about getting some of my property back, but I am a bit apprehensive about meeting with this agent again. My first experience with him wasn't very pleasant. My spidey senses tell me he's setting me up somehow, even though I have done nothing illegal. Maybe it's just mild PTSD.

                  Fingers crossed.

Wish you the best of luck.

From one of your prior posts.

To be fair, they did say we could leave, but could not return until they were finished. Like I'm going to leave 30+ strangers alone in my home. They had already disconnected all twelves of my cameras, so there would be no record of what was going on.
I find their behavior especially egregious. Have you consulted with a "Civil Rights" attorney to even question the legality of their actions during this episode?

Disconnecting cameras so they can "SEARCH IN SECRET" without the prying eyes of citizens, supervisors, future judges, and juries alike. Sets the stage for abuses. So much for LE building trust of citizens.

Disconnecting cameras 'SCREAMS, YOU CAN'T TRUST US".

If a search is lawful? Why the need for HIDING from prying eyes to conduct it?

be impossible to prove those are mine if i needed to provide receipts.

If private property of any kind is seized or confiscated by LE. They BY LAW are required to give you a receipt fully describing the property seized.

That receipt is proof of ownership, Unless they can PROVE otherwise.

                        ARTICLE 3. Presumptions Affecting the Burden of Producing Evidence [630 - 647] ( Article 3 enacted by Stats. 1965, Ch. 299. )

                        637.
The things which a person possesses are presumed to be owned by him.
No need to produce an OLD receipt, cops give you a new one.

I WAS WONDERING, oops Caps. Are the cops supposed to give you a list of what they take. If they did, you have proof that that stuff was yours. Removed from your property.

Something tells me that the minute you pick up one of those weapons (even to disassemble), you'll be arrested for illegal possession of an AW. Maybe you could talk to a local 03 FFL and have the firearms transferred to his shop or picked up by him. Then he could break down the ARs and return them to you.
