By itself (not attached to anything), it is CA legal.
When attached to airsoft, it is CA legal.
When attached to a single-shot pistol, it is CA legal.
When attached to a manually operated repeating pistol, it is CA legal.
When attached to a semi-auto pistol with a fixed 10 or less round magazine, it is CA legal.
When attached to a semi-auto pistol that does not have a fixed magazine, it is CA illegal (felony) assault weapon. [PC 30515(a)(4)(B)]sigpic
