    California compliant AR15

Can someone point me to a good thread on this? (Or just answer here.)

Like many, I ditched the Bullet Button and installed a fixed magazine last year. Looking for a checklist on what needs to be what to comply with California's requirements of removing evil features, making the magazine able to be changeable. Thanks- a bit of search didn't find what I am after.

It's at the top of every page, "CA Semiauto Ban(AW)ID Flowchart"
"Never! Jesus Christ, what dont you understand about never?"

If it's a fixed magazine, I believe that's about all you need to do on the rifle. Just make sure you don't use the magazine more than 10 rounds.

It sounds like OP wants to convert from fixed mag to featureless.

The flowchart above is the gold standard. Unless I'm forgetting a step:
              1. Change out the pistol grip for a compliant grip. There is no DoJ guidance on which products are legal. Just try to avoid the definition of "pistol grip" to the best of your ability (fin grips are safest, imho.)
                https://www.gunmann.com/best-ar-15-featureless-grips/
              2. Either pin your adjustable stock, or swap it out for a fixed stock (No thumb-hole stocks)
                e.g, https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/prod...fType=&from=fn
              3. Make sure your muzzle device is compliant. No "flash hiders".
                https://gunnersden.com/muzzle-brake-...s-flash-hider/
              4. Ensure there are no forward grips on the handguard
              5. No grenade or flare launchers
              6. swap out maglock for free-state release and enjoy your SCMs

                My bad.

                1. Get rid of the flash hider if you have it on your rifle. Replace it with muzzle brake (do look for least loud one).

                2. Get rid of the foregrip if you have it on your rifle. Replace it with some sort of hand stoppers of your choice. Angled hand stopper works too as long as they are not a grip.

                3. Replace your collapsible stock with fixed stock or weld it to fix it.

                4. Replace your pistol grip with some sort of fin grips of your choice, no thumb hole either.

Now get rid of the stupid bullet button and replace it with regular one and stick that 30 round magazine.

Why would you weld a muzzle brake onto the barrel?

As far as I understand it, welding the muzzle device on is only 4 rifles that don't meet the 16 inch requirement.

Correct. If your barrel is 16+, there's no reason to weld.

Ah... shoot. I don't know why, but I automatically assumed that he has cut the barrel to 14.5 when that's my case.

I will have to edit my comment.

                              Sorry gents.
