9mm ammo experience?

I have used all on your list and all have been good to go for me.Comment

I'm a reloader. I sort 9mm brass by headstamp and weight, size and trim to uniformity, use match grade primers and sort projectiles by weight and color. If there is an imperfection, I throw it away. When I assemble the cartridges, I pay attention to ambient temps and humidities. I weigh each individual charge 3 times, and use tweezers to pick up individual powder kernels to make sure I am getting a precise weight. I can't afford a mistake...
Nothing but the best for my Hi Point.
LOL, kidding...
I do roll my own, but if I am buying factory, I buy whatever is on sale. I will say that the only failure I have had with factory ammo was WWB, but I am sure it was a fluke (failure to feed, out of spec round...wouldn't chamber in multiple 9mm pistols)
For reloading, I use scrounged brass and Bayou Coated or X-Treme Plated projectiles.Last edited by Air; 05-24-2019, 2:52 PM.Comment

I have used...in order of preference:
Federal
MagTech
Rem UMC
All work well, but the Remington is little dirtier than the others.

Whatever is cheap. My glock eats tulammo so that's what I feed it. My sig p320 m17 like blazer and WinchesterComment

Took white box to a class rather than my reloads to prevent what took place with white box ammo.
In one magazine load I had 3 rounds that didn't go bang. Tried them in another attendees gun and silence...needless to say I haven't used white box since.
My factory choice since has been Federal.Comment

I stopped using Winchester and Remington as they produced far more powder residue and crud accross all their calibers. But both always worked well outside being the posterchildren for dirty ammo. If you dont mind that, good to go.
I like Fiocchi in stock gun. Its on the higher end of the standard power range, accurate, and runs clean. However, it has harder primer so it can be a problem if you like lighter striker springs. Doest seem to be as problematic to lighter sprung hammer guns.
Blazer is good on sale. Lower end of the power range.
Magtech, S&B, MEN and PMC are pretty good. S&B have slighty harder primers.
US support for Magtech and S&B(same company) are outstanding and stand behind their product.
Nonexistent support for IMI and PMC. They have numbers and emails but they will not get back to you if you have bad batches of ammo.
There is a reason Midway is always trying to get rid of the IMI junk ammo. Yes I have run it, and it usually works. But before the fanbois cry foil some searches will find they are notorious for several bad runs. Zero standards. I have had some way under powered 7.62 NATO that could not cycle actions.
So they are the only ones I would warn against (and put on a do not fly list) simply because you are SOL if you have it due to lack of support.Comment

I mostly stick to Fiocchi, S&B, or LAX 115gr for plinking.
Blazer, Magtech, and PMC is good to go as well.
Personally I stay away from WWB... IMO, it shoots really dirty compared to the others.
Accuracy is hard to measure as it all pretty much performs the same for me (I’ll never go out passed 25yrds with the pistols.
I easily consume well over 1K a month through a P229, P226, or the Jericho 941.
Just my two cents.Comment
