    Ruger pc9

Why are the OG Ruger pc9 going for way more than the newer take down model? On gun broker the take downs are like 500 bucks and the OG ones are 800-1300.

The originals are much rarer and shoot better then the take down model.

The originals were built for Police Department use while the new one was mass produced for the consumer market. Quality is significantly different.

Takedown is a nice feature/gimmick if that is what you want and the new PCC9 is a nice rifle for the price but it doesn't really compare with it's predecessor the PC-9. Apples and Oranges.

      Hey Musty:

OK, so realistically, what is a fair price for an original PC 9 in excellent condition?

        I've paid $850. for one (I have 3)

And would not sell any of mine for less then that. The Gen 1 is probably worth more.

Remember if you buy one out of state you will also pay xfer fees, shipping and sales tax.

Personally I believe anything less then that in CA is a steal. I do occasionally see one selling for less(usually a dept inventory liquidation)but the sell in minutes. If you see one for under 800 best act fast

People who have them love them and do not sell them often.

Personally I find the PCC a bit Fugly unless you replace the forestock.

Frankly if your not in love with the PC-9 or PC-4 just get a PCC. The PCC also has the Glock mag thing going for it.

Actually the prices for PC9 have dropped significantly. Here, I don’t watch GB.

I’ve probably seen close to a dozen in the last six months offered below $600. A couple even had ghost ring sights, which tend to be more desirable.

            Examples:

            SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD

            Make: Ruger

            Model: Police Carbine PC9

I sold my original RUGER PC9 Police carbine 9mm with Ghost ring sight for $250 , I didnt know it was so uncommon?

but I sold mine over 10 years ago, I was thinking of getting the New take down model , but they seem not as heavy duty as the old original non take down models

                  I should have kept it
