    cheap reactive target.

I hadn't seen this idea before, a golfball on a string will spin around satisfyingly (is that a word)?

there's all kinds of pvc target stands DIY on Youtube. A cleanout screw on one end of the 2 bottom pipes which lay flat on the ground will allow filling/emptying pipes with dry beach sand. ABS will take way more hits and survive compared to PVC.

    Off topic:
You don't need smooth cuts for this, but whenever you do cutting PVC with nylon string (chalk line is cheap, strong, and easy to find in a store) is neater than using a hacksaw or pipe cutter (but slower to make the cut). String works great where you don't have room to use a saw (like in a narrow hole in the ground to cut a buried sprinkler pipe).

Nice targets! They look hard to hit.

I'm surprised the golf balls don't explode when hit.

Probably depends on what you hit them with and if they have a solid or liquid center.

Yup, a golf ball's whole reason for being is to bounce as much as possible.

Bowling pins with a wire attached and suspended from a cable are fun, too.

They don't react too well with 22LR, react a bit more with 22WMR, but you can really make them dance with a 9mm, or .45. Don't use hollow points because they will wreck them.

It's even more fun if you suspend two or three pins. Hit one then the next one, etc.. Go back to the first one and try to hit it while its swinging; repeat with other pins. It's a fun exercise.

I have shot golf balls laying on the dirt with a friend's scoped Ruger MK1 and a 10/22. If you hit them right, you can really make them jump. Hanging them looks like great fun.
