Since I've had my 03 FFL + COE for over 16 years, I've been taking advantage of the exemption in Proposition 63 to purchase my ammo from internet sellers. Most of ammo I've been purchasing over the past year or so has come from ammoman.com. Now that I have another 9mm in my stable (https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1533340), I decided to increase my cache of 9mm Luger by ordering a case of 9mm Luger from ammoman.com on Saturday 5/18. Everything went smoothly and the order shipped first thing this morning.
This morning (5/20) I decided I could use a little more .45 ACP so I set up an order on ammoman.com. However, when I went to check out, a text box came up saying they could not sell to California. So, I called and left message asking if this was some new policy or a glitch on the website (that happened a few months ago on my account). A nice gentleman from ammoman.com called to inform me that as of this morning they were no longer selling to California, period. It had just become too much trouble. Apparently, it was not just the Proposition 63 stuff, but there is now a new California law about internet privacy, reporting requirements and such that was the final straw (it seems their attorneys got "nervous in the service").
Well, at least I've got a case of 9mm coming. It's a real shame though, I've been dealing with ammoman.com since 1999, twenty years.
