    Registering inhertied rifles

I found 2 rifles in a the home the was gifted to my wife and I from her parents. I presume they belonged to my father in law. Can I just register them in my name?
Both are bolt action, 7mm and a 22cal.

Was it an actual inheritance? Or a gift as your post suggests, which contradicts your title?

An undocumented firearm is a symbol of Free America.

DOJ is looking for some weapons they don’t know about. Why volenteer?

nobody said they were undocumented. Didn't say when they were acquired. If they had DROS in the last 4 years, then they're registered to someone else. I wouldn't want to be in possession of a firearm registered to someone else, since with the newer laws it's not even legal to loan a firearm anymore for any length of time.

How would anyone know who the firearms are registered to if they are registered? I'm curious.

Why would you even consider 'registering' your private property?
