a person learns whats needed after many years of shooting, stuff starts wearing, parts break

a old surplus rifle like a MOSIN NAGANT has a weak link, the trigger sear spring is one of the parts that breaks, a spare is recommended

when sks stocks were dirt cheap, I picked up a couple spare stock sets for less than $10 each

good to have to replace a cracked stock or bring a rifle back to original military configuration if you buy a used sks with a Tapco stock

For my competition guns I have as spares:

-- Springs: Main springs, recoil springs, trigger springs, sear springs
      -- Tuned extractors.
      -- Spare front sights.
      -- Spare fiber

For hunting rifles I take a spare gun and ammo.

If you have a 1911, basically every small part in the slide. If you read old Ross Seyfried articles, he says he replaces or massages every small part because they have all failed on him at one time or another.

I can recco a firing pin because I had one go bad on my Colt.
