Yes, they are a FFL. Don't know about the rest.."Most people understand that guns deter criminals. If a killer were stalking your family, would you feel safer putting a sign out front announcing, "This Home Is a Gun-Free Zone"? But that is what the Westroads Mall did" (in Omaha, Neb).

They are the only gunstore in a very small town. I have not seen any AR or eguivalents there. Small inventory, but they sometimes get some unbelievable consignments. I got an 03A3 there and a very trick Mauser-based .243 with a Douglas air-gauge barrel and some great .22 pistols.
The customer service level is variable.Winchester Canyon Gun Club -- Life Member

No ARs or off list anything. Prices are a bit on the high side, but as Ledbetter stated, sometimes they have good consignments. I once found an absolute cherry Mossberg M42 there for a good price.
BTW Ledbetter, are you who I think you are? If so good to see you here.

Last time I was there, I asked them if they were ever gonna get any AR's in, and they laughed at me very loudly. I haven't been back since.
Their selection of handguns is slim, and their selection of rifles is horrible (a few old junk rifles). Their ammo prices are outrageously expensive.
Even though they are very opinionated about CA gun laws, their customer services is generally pretty good.
If I was to give them a grade, I would give them a 'C'.Comment

Far west has an ok pistol selection, dont know much about their long guns. Their prices are high just like the gun shop in Goleta. Neither shop will touch AR's or AK's, they just dont want to deal with the percieved hassle. I got my first pistol from the shop in Goleta but all the rest of my guns have come from Bay Area shops or PPT's. The two Santa Barbara area shops are just too pricy.Comment

just kidding Steve-o.... but supposedly (not sure if this is true) a while back they were selling an AR there, my cousin told me had a standard A1/2 type stock, a Real fixed mag (not BB, or P50) that forced you to top load. what my cousin didn't specify is whether or not it had a pistol grip or not. but my guess is that it didn't. (that is if this gun was actually there, or maybe my cousin was blowing smoke up my Arse)

There is a reason Rick from Dodge City told him to pound sand, and opened his own gun store (hint: they were brothers-in-law...).
The "Dodge City raid" is still being questioned.
I worked at Dodge City for a while in the late 90's. Great store, great guy, great selection, and lots of customers that were screwed by Far West."A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......CiceroComment
