Many sellers excluding Ca. on Gun Broker.com

I was shopping around for a 1903 Springfield on GunBroker today.
A 116 year old bolt action rifle. Only to find the auctions I had saved will not ship to Calif. Due to our laws.
I understand its a legal to purchase gun here. But many sellers do not. Or do not want to bother selling to Calif.
I don't recall this being addressed anywhere, and wanted to bring it up.
It's more than the microstamping fiasco, It seems like we're not even part of the United States any more......

    Rant off.

Most sellers excluding shipping out of California...

        ...on Calguns.net.

And that's even including C&R guns. I see stuff here for sale every day that I wouldn't mind having. Money is not an issue. My iTrader rep here, on arf, and the FAL Files is spotless with no bull scat.

        What's the issue?

California weapons laws require a non -03 ffl not located in the state to file info with them to obtain what appears to be a dealer number...I'd assume during the issuance of the number that they verify the ffl's info is correct with an active license...actually, not sure what the hell they do anyway.

Dealer can not ship to an ffl in California, who I assume verifies he receiving the gun from a verified dealer verified by the state. I'd suggest money generation operation. Out of state dealers probably feel this to be a PITA to some degree.

I have been buying out of state here since the 80's.
Its the perception we now have.
The CR&R thing was just icing on the cake today.
No, Its not new / and I do not wish to just move along.
Thats exactly how we got here.

I middleman guns to Ca off gunbroker auctions often. Out of state dealers just don't want to bother. I have a few regular gun shops across America that sell unique or hard to get guns and they send Californians to me to arrange shipping. They would rather sell a gun to you and ship it to me so I can deal with the 1 minute of paperwork involved and that way they don;t have to worry about compliance issues.

I buy my bolt actions on gunbroker.
It's been like that for 8 years that I know of.
I always contact the seller if they will ship.to CA before bidding.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I've bought a few guns off of Gunbroker over the years, finding a seller that will ship here is a bit of a unicorn, but it is possible. Even if the auction says nothing about shipping here, I always send a message asking the seller if they will...to be polite.

I had my GB account frozen after a non paying bidder issue over an ffl that wouldn’t ship to Ca. Didn’t mention anything about it in the ad. So I bid. That was around 10 years ago. Seriously- I have tried 8-10 different times to resolve the issue. As well, tried setting up another account and their filters always kicked it back. I have since bought 50-75 guns just simply by Googling the FFL name and contacting them outside of GB. Several will knock off a few bucks for not having to pay the GB fees also.
