    Out of state purchase???

    EDIT...
Looks like it may be easier to buy a revolver in ak, then ship back to my hometown ffl upon exiting alaska(hope it's not a nogo)??
    Time to research this one.
    End edit

I have hunted around and am rather certain it's not possible for a subject of the prk to buy a long gun in either oregon or wash. ....

    Anyone confirm this?
    Any way possible?
Traveling thru town stop and buy right

Not unless you have C&R FFL and are buying a C&R gun

Or have it shipped to an FFL to do a transfer.

Yes, and note that Cabelas out of state will ship to CA Bass Pro for free and no transfer fee.

You can't take possession, but if the seller is willing, they can ship it to a FFL in CA and then you go through the normal process, DROS and 10 day wait. The CA dealer can charge you whatever they want for the transfer so it is usually cost prohibitive to do this.

Next year, road trip thru b.c.\yukon " news flash" they said the prk is the wild west and I was only allowed -7 days in country with a "prohibited" firearm ( read ANY handgun) thus I cannot bring one in.

Alaska was awesome for buying and selling guns private party when I was stationed there. They even had a Craigslist type site that was just for Alaska and had a booming gun sales section.

Unless you are a resident of Alaska, Federal law says can't take delivery of a handgun there - as others have noted, could arrange to have it shipped to a CA FFL.

Feds would allow you to buy a long gun out of state, but CA law won't allow delivery to you unless through a CA FFL.
