Nuclear bomb fallout + Google maps

I had always wondered how at-risk I am living near a high-profile target like Los Angeles. This neat little tool lets you detonate a bomb anywhere and see how far the blast will reach.

Carlos Labs works in management, analytics and ideation for digital properties.

Turns out I am no where near the blast radius of even the biggest nuclear detonation.

This doesn't account for fallout, only blast radius.

Actually, it doesn't account for either blast radius or fallout effects. It only accounts for immediate radiation effects.

The scope & direction of the fallout effects depend upon prevailing winds at the time of the blast and how much dust/debris is sucked up into the radioactive cloud at the time of the blast.

It's about like calculating effects of the anti 2A political machine, which is probably worse since the prevention isn't as extensive and cleanup is apparently a lot longer process.

The streets only get fixed in years when there are local elections. And even then they do stupid stuff like repaving before they replace the sewer. One nuke probably isn't enough.
