    Ammunition Update from a Manufacturer

I spoke to a representative from a major ammunition manufacturer of CCI/Spear and Blazer. He said ammunition is catching up!

Representative stated: "Supplies are still critically short, that's why you are still not seeing inventory at retail. That should fix soon as ATK has been shipping non stop for the past week."

Good News! I am assuming other manufacturers are catching up also.

I would agree, I've been seeing more and more in the stores. Went to Wal Mart at lunch time today and they still had some 9mm, .40, .45 and .223, plus the regular like .22, .17hmr and shotty.

ATK is Alliant Techsystems was spun off from Honeywell in 1990. The company's headquarters are in Edina, Minnesota. ATK owns a number of well-known brands, including Thiokol, which produces rocket fuel and explosives, and Federal, which produces consumer ammunition. It provides most of the small caliber ammunition for US police and military units. ATK has a large share of the sporting ammunition market as well. The company is also a leader in providing "green" ammunition to hunters and to military organizations, greatly reducing the use of heavy metals (e.g., lead) in wetlands, training ranges and combat settings.

              Outstanding company, 17,000 employees!

Walmart in Kerrny Mesa had about 4-5 boxes of Blazer at around noon time today.

Not trying to be a wise guy, but I don't think it's going be "normal" for a long time.

                          I hope I'm wrong!

Call it wishful thinking. But in some weird way I don't think it will ever be the same as it used to. I think what we see now is what we will be paying for a long time to come. There may be more stock out there but prices will not be going down. Just my 2 cents, but still trying to think possitive

I think the guys that worked for Fannie Mae and AIG got into ammo as a hedge and have run this bubble up. Its probably close to popping. Wait until later this year when the shelves are full of reloading components and ammo. We'll see lots of deals on Calguns classifieds for hedge ammo and primers for sale.
