    Too much armor?

i was searching online for Plate carriers and great plates and found that it seems that people are too concerned with protecting thier entire bodies with so much armor you are starting to look like a knight from the Middle Ages.

    Ballistic Plates in Shoulder Pads

    Ballistic Plates in Drop legs

    Throat Guards

    shin guards

and now this....i dont know about you but it seems like someone is playing HALO a little too much

If I could have a choice in the matter, I would go with a lightwieght molle plate carrier that covered vital organs in the torso.

Here in Afghanistan, I have front, back and side plates and the set up weighs roughly 40 lbs.

We have the new IOTVs..which are WAY more comfortable than the old IBA. With the old ones you could barely move.

Still, even with the IOTV I feel that my manuevability is compromised. I'd much rather be able to move uickly to cover than have more armor and get shot because I can't move fast enough.
