I think down also. Think about a guy who likes to buy 2-3 guns a month, but can only buy 1. Multiply that guy times 100,000 people. That's means less purchases a month, which means less demand. And there are same number of guns for sale (supply).

Lower demand and same supply means lower prices.

There are already pretty much zero on roster handguns that I'd be excited to buy.

High end will decrease also. Say you put up for sale 2k 1911. Normally it would get 4-5 inquiries, but since some of them already bought their limit for the month, you get 1-2 bids, one of them being a lowball offer. Most likely, you'll have to drop your price if you're a motivated seller.

            Yes, people buy that many.
When I PPT, I like buy multiple from the same seller to save time, money on DROS, and get the multi-gun discount.

I've purchased a gun on a spur of the moment at a shop that I was PPT'ing when I saw a good deal.

I don't buy guns very often anymore. Last one I purchased was almost a year ago.

There are several proposed laws that together could put downward pressure on PPT prices:

                1. 1 in 30 for all firearm purchases.
                2. Increase in DROS fees.
                3. Additional semiauto "fee".

These laws would eliminate savings for multiple guns on one DROS, and increase the cost buying a gun. So some buyers might want to pay less for a gun to make up for the increase in fees.

It reduces the number of potential buyers.

                  Prices will go down.

As stated above, like many such restrictions, there are legal ways around them.
It will affect everyone who buys and sell on calguns.

I think initially, prices will go down. The market will be flooded a and sellers will have to compete for the 1 purchase another person has each month instead of what their bank account allows. sales will slow down and prices will drop by people that actually need the money from a sale.

At some point, people will be more careful in what they choose to buy with their 1 and 30 and sales inventory should go down causing prices to normalize.

that's all in theory...Ca gun laws have a way of making people act irrationally with their money.

Any time you restrict supply while demand remains the same, prices go up until someone starts making more of what's being sold, ensuring supply AND driving prices down.

In Kalistan, the object is to remove the supply totally, so prices will continue to go up until our gun prices are as out of line with the rest of the country as our gasoline prices are.

See how busy the for-sale forums are here!

California gun owners and calguns members have plenty of inventory to sell or trade. For a lot of people its a hobby. Put limits on how often you can buy means your buying fewer. Inventory/supply increases, prices fall.

Also consider that younger people care more about using marijuana than gun ownership and you can't legally do both.

IF it happens, I would think the selling model would transition over to more like selling real estate.
Buyer puts the earnest money down, then after the 30 day time contingency...you proceed with the new purchase.
