Sig m17 fit on compact frame?

I wanted to buy the sig m17. It has the manual safety on it () so i don't know if it will be an issue getting it to fit on the p320 compact frame. Anyone have any experience?

Will fit fine. There is someone selling M17 complete slides on Ebay for just over $400. Don't over pay on Calguns.

Complete slides on Ebay? That's iffy.. lol but thanks for the info. I'm buying from Kentucky gun co. Killer sale. Plus sig is offering 50$ store credit and two 21 round mags with the purchase. I wanted to use the store credit to buy a compact OD green frame.

you will need to file/sand/dremel/cut the Compact frame to get the safety to drop into the frame.

Minimal work but can be done easily if you have the means to make clean cuts.

I've gotten great results just going very slowly with a utility blade on polymer.

If you are out of state or exempt why are you getting one with the frame safety?

I thought you already have a compact grip and trigger module already. In which case the slide will fit without modification.

And there are tons of legit complete slides on eBay. In fact it I would bet money eBay would take better care of you if you had problems than Gunbroker.

Won't the slide hang out over the dust cover? The barrel is a lot longer on the full size than the Compact.

I don't have a picture off hand but I remember someone put a X5 slide on a X Carry frame which is a compact slide with a full size grip. It kind of reminded me of a half rail 1911.

If you have a manual safety P320, you will need to notch the new grip assembly in order to keep the manual safety lever.

Another option is to remove the safety and go with the normal P320 fire control.

Yeah I looked up how to do both on the sig forums. Looks fairly easy.

You have two options. The first option as stated, simply cut safety notches in the frame. This is easy to do. Put the new frame side by side with the m17 frame with an appropriate size drill bit through the take down lever holes to keep them lined up. Trace the safety notches onto the new frame. Drill a hole in the new frame at the bottom of the notch, then use a dremel with a grinding disc to cut straight lines for the notches. If you get the X-frame, the notches are already pre scored. The second is to remove the safety and replace it with a p250 or p320 safety lever pivot pin. No need to cut a frame and will function like a regular p320. $16 part. Available at brownells and other places. Heres a link: https://www.brownells.com/handgun-pa...%2bSauer__P320
If you opt for the gray guns competition trigger kit, it comes with a nicely polished pin as well. That is the option I went with. The overtravel stop is nice as well.

Compact and Carry are the same "frame" length, only the grip is longer on the Carry. The M17 is full size with a longer "frame" than the Compact/Carry. It would be like a full size 1911 slide on a Defender frame.

You will also need the correct trigger bar. Manual safety setups have a shortened trigger bar. (We do MS conversions all the time, including cutting the FCU pocket!)
