    should I trade it ?? 9422M

I know...most will say keep it and just buy the other one....

    But I'll ask anyways....

I have a Winchester 9422 Magnum XTR , made in 1988 with a WinTuff stock , used in nice shape , was a presentation rifle and has a gentleman's name on the left side , "Roy Peace Paloma 1988" I do not hunt anymore and the 22mag IS a hunting round...

thinking of trading it off for a M1 carbine , that being a better "camp" and HD rifle then the 22mag..

    what you all think ?

    and no I'm not crazy

i vote keep it. so far rimfire rifles and ammo are protected species that are ok in virtually every unfree state and 22wmr out of a rifle is a worthy proposition. anyway imho better than a 30 caliber carbine for camping protection is a 12 or 20ga shotgun.

If you can afford both, I would keep the Winchester. If the 9422M doesn't have any special meaning to you then I would trade or sell it for the M1-Carbine, providing it was a USGI M-1 Carbine.

I think there are a number of folks who would love to get a 9422M so you could get the rifle you want while making someone else very happy.

your right about a 12gauge.... the wife fired my SxS once....never again....so.. the 30carbine is light shooter and I'm sure it would work great for her.... and I like em also

Keep it, it’s a great gun. Good for hunting edible varmints and keeping your shooting skills honed.

                    Sweet rifle, that 9422.

                    I wouldn’t trade it away.

I think the .22mag is a way better “camp gun” than the M1 carbine, if thats truly the criteria you are using.

That said, when Im shooting for fun, I am shooting the M1 carbine way more often than the .22mag.

Guess it depends on your priorities and budget. But for me personally, there is something fundamentally untenable about selling off a Winchester 94.
