I'm thinking handguns before "sniper" rifles. Because they are used in most gun related crimes and can be easily concealed.

As has been mentioned, any accurate rifle in the hands of a sniper is a sniper rifle.

At your local gunshow, all the Mosin Nagant rifles you see are former Russian 'Sniper Rifles'.
Heck, a non MN sniper rifle would be more collectable due to rarity.
