Glock magazine vs Pmag

Im holding a glock magazine (24 rounds) and a Pmag (21 rounds). The glock magazine is much heavier and feels sturdier. Pmag feels cheaply made. Are all 3rd party mags like this or did I get a lemon?

Yes, there is weight difference but that is all. The Glock OEM mags have steel in them, thus the weight. The Magpuls do not. I have run both in my 9mm Glocks, 17, 19 and 34 without issue. Also in my Ruger 9mm PCC.

The difference in weight is about the same difference in the price. Enjoy your magpuls, they are excellent mags too.

I agree they feel cheaper but I paid 9.95 for G17 and G19s pmags during this freedom week. Very hard to beat with all the reviews I've read and knowing him the quality of AR mags are

I paid quite a bit more today for Glock mags... and I don't own a Glock.

But I may at some point in the near future own a Ruger PC9 Carbine, see.

And while I was at it, I added to my Magpul 5.56 PMag stash.

I call it a taste! of freedom.

I paid 9.95 for G17 and G19s pmags

That's a good price.

Usually the Korean mags run about that price and the Pmags run a couple of bucks more

I don't like promags at all. I have had failures. It seems the bigger the magazine (or drum) i go with Promag the more issues I have. I have had great luck with Pmags from magpul and of course OEM is always good to go. I have some ETS magazines but I haven't run them long enough to say they are good to go, though so far I've had no problems.

I won't run anything but oem glock mags in my daily carry though. But that is my personal choice.

The glock magazine is much heavier and feels sturdier.

It is just a difference in the polymer used. Even before Glock added their metal liners, they always felt over weight and a bit clunky.

Original Glock mags, I think they are currently on Gen 11 or 12, would bulge when fully loaded and not eject when the mag release was pressed. They added the metal liner to prevent the bulging. This is different than the modification that allow them to fall free...they were designed not to

The Magpul mags were design not to bulge when fully loaded, so there was no need to line them. Better engineering allows them to be lighter

Shot thousands of rounds out of 9mm glock pmags without a single malfunction. Most magpul products feel cheap, and most are in fact very high quality and durable.

I got some pretty good deals on glock pmags (just being able to buy them was a deal enough for me) so I bought 12 of them and 1 glock oem mag.
Now we see which holds up better!
