    "stay" in layman's terms??

so this whole thing went down while i was away on a trip and of course as soon as i get back there's a deadline. the bigger mags i'd actually want to use (vs some theoretical apocalyptic scenario) are cz scorpion and 10/22 mags. neither of which any local stores have anyway. whoever still has any full size mags only seem to have them for ar, which this plinker doesn't want enough to deal with the rush and inflated prices

so the question is, what exactly does the 'stay' do? is that just legaleze to mean there's a temporary hold until the courts can figure out a permanent policy? if so, that mean's there's a possibility the ban could get removed altogether and i can buy at my leisure, yes?

"just legaleze to mean there's a temporary hold until the courts can figure out a permanent policy" is about right.

In this case, it may mean the case goes to trial before Judge Benitez. That takes as long as it takes, and then whoever loses appeals to 9th circuit.

That will take as long as it will take, and after plaintiffs lose, an appeal will be made to the Supreme Court.

'At your leisure' might be six years out ...
