What happens if the follower broke or spring got weak? Can you buy parts to fix it.

stop overthinking. How many followers have you broken in your life? How many springs went bad on you? In my 40 years of shooting, never replaced a follower and 1 AK magazine spring replacement.

Cr@p I did not think of that. I usually sip ammo very carefully, now std cap will make a range visit quite short. What I really need to do is have the wife enjoy shooting the standard cap so much that she will agree to move to AZ.
