    In store purchase - logged?

Just curious for those that purchased at your local brick and mortar...
Did they write down your info or take a photocopy of your DL?

Came across a post from someone when Riflegear first started selling SCM that they took his DL into the back and came back with it.

Some stores who have a "Large Capacity Magazine" permit to sell to exempt LEO's are still requiring ID and tracking each sale as has been required of them for years by regulation.

So the short answer is "a few". I am not qualified in any way to say if those stores are right or wrong in their understanding of regulations until 5pm today.

Wow, people are really paranoid. We ask for an ID to verify an order and/or check for CC fraud and suddenly we are undercover agents of the DOJ. We did our best to sell as many mags as we could, and while I'm not asking for a thank you, at least please don't spread unfounded rumors about us. I'm not as upset with you as I am the guy that made that "psa" post in the first place, but I sure don't like to see it repeated.

Actually there is a requirement to log Law Enforcement sales, but they never anticipated civilian sales would be a thing so they neglected to require that in the PC. I guess they wish they had thought of that now!

Here's one anyway. Thank you! You were one of the first stores in CA selling to people and still my favorite gun shop.

Sorry, but you're taking it the wrong way, however, it was merely a question as was the one with the original guy asking the question.

Had a LEO friend who told me that when they buy their magazines that their sales are logged as required by the DOJ for those with a hi-cap license and was wondering if this applied during our freedom week; which you answered.

No paranoia behind it as all online transaction was logged anyways. No need to be defensive.

On another note thanks for trying to get as many mags out to us as during this time, I'm sure it was crazy!

Don't believe OP ever accused you guys of anything and was merely asking a question.

To answer you OP it appears that some were and were not according to this thread in the FFL section due to their obligations as license holders.
