Buying new guns based on mag availability

I've spent about 5x more than I originally planned on magazines since Friday night. All these sites have some crazy deals that will pop up. I would assume there's some people out there buying mags for guns they don't even own yet-- see a great deal and jump on it and figure you'll buy the gun later.

For me, I've had a M1A Scout that I have loved to shoot the past 10 years. But after buying so many new SA and CheckMate mags from various sites, I'm thinking maybe the Scout needs another friend-- maybe a Socom 16??

Also, I slipped in a brand new Sig X5 right before SSE ended years ago and still sitting in my safe BNIB. I planned to sell it because I love my Beretta 92's for full size 9mm's.

But after finding a great deal last night on MecGar mags for Sig P226 (my X5 does not have flared Magwell) I'm rethinking selling the X5.

I'm sure there's a ton of Calgunners purchasing mags for guns they don't even own yet but that are now on their "to buy" list.

What are your mags that now need a new home??

I'm avoiding buying any guns until I move out of here. I mean, it will happen occasionally, but I'm not actively looking for guns. I did buy some mags because they're at normal prices and I can have them when I move. But after that, I'll be able to buy whatever guns and magazines I want, so I could care less about buying on roster handguns or featureless rifles.

I did think about buying a bunch of $2 G3 mags, even though I don't have the rifle. I suppose the Ruger 9mm carbine is on my list regardless of what state I'll be living in and takes Glock mags so that counts as I've got a G19.

Funny you say that cause as I went to bed last night I was thinking-- maybe I should buy a Ruger 9mm carbine and get mags for it!!!!!

I have a Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm and love it, been toying with getting a 92 too.

Having said that, how much do you want for the Sig X5?

Yup but I dont need to rush to get them. As CA is no longer my primary residence and can walk into any shop and find them for $24 after tax.

Sunday I ordered 2-12 rnd mags for my Glock G26 and 3-15 rnd G19 and today I started paperwork on a Glock 19. Mags will be here tomorrow and I pick up the gun in 10 days.
