Anyone find a RFID chip in their HK?

I found one in my wife's P2000 and am wondering if anyone else has found on in their HK's? No , I am not worried about black helicopters, Just find it interesting that there is one in one of my pistols. Should I leave it or take it out, What say you Calguns?

What do you mean by an RFID chip in your gun?

Was it stuck on the inside with glue, or is it embedded in the plastic?

If it is only a sticker, then it is most likely for theft control.

Be sure to ask your doctor if depression, rectal bleeding, and suicide are right for you.

In the United States a person's expertise on a subject is inversely proportional to their knowledge of the subject: The less they know about something, the more they become an expert on it.

Have it scanned by a veterinarian,

        maybe it's lost.

Next time you fly take chip on plane and hide in cabin somewhere. Let them go nuts.

I've seen it and know it's there. Good enough for now.
If it were a CCW perhaps I would remove it but I know
            that is being paranoid.

None of my HK's had RFID chips...however, this was known for awhile. it was used for when a LEO agency ordered a batch and was used to keep track. this is what i gathered from the HK Forums. i think 1st seen in the HK45C

My guess it's just something like H&K in-house Factory controled inventory. They may think it's more accurate / costs less to have a robot or someone with a scanning gun constantly track their Firearms by their RFID chips as they move along the assembly line rather than it is to have someone constantly reading the serial numbers.

I guess it's also possible some European countries might require that for upcoming firearms registration and tracking but I doubt that's the case because it sounds like it's easily removed.

I would just give H & K a call and if it doesn't void the warranty (which it probably doesn't) I would just remove it and put it with the box and paperwork the gun came with.

                  Most likely inventory control.

RFID readers give you real time inventory with the push of a button.

                  EDIT;
Dang, I should read all the posts before I chime in - Sealocan got it before me.

Stick your gun in the microwave to deactivate the chip, OP.

Never found any tom-foolery in a HK firearm, yet.
But I did find some dried spaghetti noodles underneath a brown leather Ducati Motorcycle saddle.
Owner was complaining of a crunching sound every time he made a left turn.

Had one in my HK45 that came loose and started bouncing around inside the grip. Freaked me out when it happened, thought I broke something in it. I just tossed it. Haven't looked in my other HK's to see if they have them or not.

Any chip or electronic device has to have a power source. And frankly
you will not find one. Just common sense this is a farce. April 1st
