Maybe I’m too naive here, but my encounter with the special agent was very pleasant. When he showed up at my work, he was in plain clothes and made sure that he did not draw any attention to himself to get me in trouble.

I gave him the slide, signed the paperwork and we even talked for awhile about gun stuff. He did say that he did check on my record, knew I had a CCW and everything I had or do was legal.

So I guess, him knowing that beforehand made a difference.

That's the unnecessary part IMHO. I would be much less likely to work with mall ninjas. On a bad day, I would ask them for their supervisor's phone number and tell them to return dressed like adults, whereupon I will gladly cooperate with anybody dressed as, and acting like, a professional.

On a better day, I might think to call 911 and report two unknown persons dressed in tactical gear on my porch, requesting immediate police help.

The tac gear is 100% B.S.
