    New Rifle

    Hello All,

So I just got my first bolt action rifle. It's a Savage Arms 110 Tactical with 24 inch barrel chambered in 308.

I got it for bench shooting and hopefully reach 1000 yards at some point.

I would like to know what are the lubing (or greasing) points on the bolt. Do I need to lube the rail the bolt rides? Do I use CLP or grease? I cant seem to a good video or pictures.

    Thanks you in advance Calgunners!

Didn’t mention lubing points on the manual. I saw some videos that said to grease up the bolt lugs. I’m more of visual person so if someone could add some pics would be appreciated.

A little light grease on the back of the bolt locking lugs will help. The rest of the gun just needs a light oil/CLP.

Been eyeing the 6.5 version as my first bolt gun. Lube the lugs and bolt where it slides or rotates. How is it and what price did you pay?

Just got it. Paid $600. Was on clearance. Looking at the viper PST Gen 2 5x25 to finish it up.
What about barrel break in? Is it needed?

Lube the bolt at all the wear points.

Add.a.drop into the bolt where the cocking pin is located.
