    Question about DROS?

Haven't bought any new guns in a while.
Was wondering if you can put a rifle and pistol on same dros still.

    Thanks for any help.

    Yes you can!!

Buying from LGS - One handgun plus as many long guns (and lowers) you want.

PPT - No limit (handguns and/or long guns)

Only if PPT, otherwise no extra charge when buying guns from LGS.

No handgun limit buying from LGS or dealer transfer if you have C&R + COE

For PPT, I believe the transfer fee for an additional firearm went up from $10 to $31 on January 1, 2019.

I had not heard about any fee increase. Can you cite some authority for a 1/1/19 fee increase?

Don't think so. I bought 2 pistols via PPT in early Feb. Receipt:
                $25 - DROS
                $10 - PPT Fee
                $10 - PPT Fee

This is from DOJ, Item #14:

Public Where do I find laws regarding the possession of firearms? I'm not sure whether I have a California record that would prevent me from owning/possessing a firearm. Is there a way to find out before I attempt to purchase one? What is the process for purchasing a firearm in California? How can I obtain a Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) license? Can I give a firearm to my adult child? Can he/she give it back to me later? Can I give a firearm to my spouse or registered domestic partner? Can he/she give it back to me later?

This is wrong. The info is years out of date and California doesnt care/ bother to updated their webpage.

That is a typo and that FAQ doesn’t even cite the correct & current penal code. Never trust a FAQ - or trust but verify.

                        (b) No other fee may be charged by the dealer for a sale, loan, or transfer of a firearm conducted pursuant to this chapter, except for the applicable fees that may be charged pursuant to Sections 23690 and 28300 and Article 3 (commencing with Section 28200) of Chapter 6 and forwarded to the Department of Justice, and the fees set forth in Section 31650.

                          I stand corrected.

True story, I was with another Calguner in January for a PPT at LGS.

He was going to DROS two pistols on the same day. The FFL told him that it would be $31 for the second pistol.

There are inconsistencies in how FFLs "follow" the codes. For example, some places I have to buy new locks (even though BRAND NEW factory locks are included in the transfer,) but some places I don't.

Thanks everyone for your input and insights.
