I have some questions about transporting long guns:
1) When I am carrying a long gun, it needs to be in a rifle bag, right? Does it also need a lock on it when in the bag?
2) Does the long gun in the bag need to be unloaded? Does having a mag filled with bullets but separate from the gun count as loaded?
3) When transporting a long gun that I am taking home from a gun store, and my car is parked right in front of the store (as in 5 or so feet away from the entrance of the store), can I carry the rifle with no bag (meaning it is exposed) and put it into the trunk of my car? Or would I need a rifle bag to even do that?
4) Apply the same scenario to one, but being at a shooting range instead of a gun store.
5) When my rifle is in the trunk of my car, how must it be stored? In a rifle bag?
6) For an off list AK style rifle, can someone recommended me a cheap bag that works?
Sorry, I tried searching and I did not find very clear results.
