There is another thread around here, that says there is a new policy at DOJ: if you have any arrests without dispositions, they are holding up approvals.

Does your FFL release on undetermined status?

What are we talking about? Driving on suspended Lic arrest (1 hour)? Would that count?

OP, this is the key question.

If CA DOJ can't make up its mind about your eligibility within 30 days, it will be up to the FFL to decide if they will release to you or not.

I hope you used an FFL that does release when the buyer becomes "undetermined" after 30 days.

To answer your original question OP, I haven't heard of very many cases his year, but the year is young.

It seems that new/expanded prohibitions on firearms possession go into effect virtually every year in CA, so there are more and more reasons (opportunities) for CA DOJ to flag DROS's for delay than ever before.

I many cases, they will not determined eligibility within 30 days, at which point your DROS becomes undetermined. The FFL is allowed to make the call, at that point, to release or not.

Always confirm with the FFL, before your DROS, if they will release when undetermined. The reason is that sometimes a DROS may get delayed for reasons that have nothing to do with you, and are completely beyond your control. For example similar name with a prohibited person, or a gun SN showing up erroneously on a theft report in the case of a PPT, etc.

I don't know, it was more rumor at this point since we don't have any corroboration yet. But it sounded legit based on what we know of CA. Nothing ever gets better here when policies change, only worse. And what you and I think would be a blatant unlawful infringement, doesn't bother them one stinking bit because they have time on their side, the 9th Circus backing their plays and a US Supreme Court that sits on their hands more often than not when 2A cases come around.
