Where are you buying your ammo online?

I just moved back and need to buy bulk ammo (1,000 rounds) for the first time since the new law about buying ammo.


My local FFL said all I need to do is have it shipped to them and they will handle it for a $5 fee. They offered this since they can't give me a good deal on a bulk buy of plinking ammo.


I then went to order from my normal places like sgammo, midwayusa, or cheaperthandirt but their sites don't seem to allow it. I reached out to cheaperthandirt and their response was rude and short "we don't ship to CA" even tho I told them it was going to my FFL.


So is this because of the new law in CA about buying ammo so out of state sellers want to be dicks to us now, or because they don't want to deal with collecting CA sales tax, or what's the deal?


Where are you guys buying ammo online to get the best price and drop ship to your FFL?

wish they would quit shipping/selling to Cali law enforcement agencies of any type. but instead they quit selling to those who need it most. Sucks

Oh, and um, drop Cheaper Than Dirtbags. Among many other scumbaggery, they won't even send simple non-prohibited things such as a flash hider to CA.

FINALLY found a vendor from that thread with 1K rounds of CCI .40 w/free shipping and a fair price. Just placed it. What a freakin PITA, took me like 15 vendors to find one.

I’ve bought a few things from Buds guns. They’re cheap for a lot of ammo and there is a drop down to select your FFL. It’s been pretty easy

Yeah, I would have gone with them but they wouldn't honor free shipping on 20 boxes even tho they were out of the 1,000 free shipping offer.


I found a place that was less anyway and very easy to deal with.
