    No More Shooting in Colfax?

Here's a not so good story in the Auburn Urinal:

    Now what?

This is a "official" deal that we knew would happen with all the nonsense out there.

I am less than 15 minutes from there and have ridden motorcycles out there many time but never shot there.

Bummer I will "officially" not be able to do so now...

For sure if it was done right (kept clean and such) it could be KEPT open.

It's just a way of holding us down more.

The thing that is hard is there are TOO many no caring gun owners... There were some shooting at trains at some point which is dangerous and stupid.

And then to be shooting up the signs that are put there to tell you it will be close if the place is not cleaned up is crazy.

They warned them and it was not taken seriously. Bummer again.

Thanks to all that left a mess there ETC ETC...

Please everyone CLEAN UP after you shoot. Clean it all up.... Take a few 5 gallon buckets with you and a shovel to clean up even others stuff... (don't shoot your buckets)

Yea, I'm amazed at how little people respect free places to shoot. I'm gonna post up about a clean-up for Ramona. That place has thousands of spend casing, targets and just junk from people too lazy to clean up after themselves.

I've shot there several times and I always took away more than I brought, but I guess not everyone does that. Unfortunately the type of shooters who create the mess are also those who probably don't read Calguns. Still, I need to say that the other side is looking for any excuse they can find to shut us down. Let's not help them by littering and making a mess.

I also agree with some of the comments at the bottom of the article: it may be a mess, but at least it's a mess in one spot. Even without the shooters, they will probably still have problems with people dumping there.

Yea, we do the same thing as well. Next time we plan on bringing some rakes and some trash bags and fillin up the back of my truck with trash.

It's so nice to have a place semi close that I can shoot for free that I'd really hate to see it get shut down.

In todays climate of ammo/brass hoarding, ranges will only have 12g and .22 trash...and crappy steel cases.

TRUE but in some of the picks I have seen (ok all of them) that is ALOt of the mess anyway.

We need to educate the dumba*s that dumps or worse kick his a*s seabass... JK maybe fine him or her big?

Now the garbage will be dumped in front of the locked gate instead of on the range. Great solution.

I helped clean up this range once with a group out of Placerville called P.L.I.N.K. (Please Leave It NRA Klean). When I arrived, the trash and brass on the ground was astonishing! It was 10 times what I had expected. Another classic case of a few knuckleheads messing it up for everyone else.

I say ban all the following at BLM

....all rock climbing...as it damages endangered rocks
...all hang gliding....as it causes to many emergency room bills paid by the county
........all dogs of any kind because they **** all over nature then piss on it...
....all flower sniffing as it kills flowers...
...all hiking as the boots smash endangered pant species to smithereens...

....and so on and so on....

But in reality only littering and shooting gets banned.

                          WHAT GIVES?
