    What would you do?

im all for people doing their research before buying a firearm, makes sense

in the last 3 months i've bought 3 Sig Sauers, one P226 and two P320's, one nitron and one FDE - very happy with all 3, did my research beforehand, got a chance to rent and shoot before I bought

to the point - i've took interest in the Sig P365, thought it would make a GREAT little pocket pistol for me in the winter, just keep it in my jacket pocket with a specially designed holster i have for that

finally got a chance to handle and shoot one about 2 weeks ago - the firearm itself did well for being so little, in fact, that's my problem - as much as i like the firearm it felt small, probably too small for my hands - as far as going to the range and shooting it alot, that might not be much fun - as far as having to get quick access to it in a life or death situation, well, any firearm in my possession would be a plus and size would not matter

i had to send my EDC gun back to FN yesterday, my FNS 9C, it has a voluntary recall for a upgraded striker, figured i'd get it done, so now im using my Beretta Px4 when i leave the house

problem is, even with the apprehensions i have about the gun, I STILL WANT that gun

what advice would you give - buy it anyway and try to get accustomed to it or just forget about it and wait for the next firearm to come along that may be a better fit?

If pocket carry is not an issue, I would go with a Glock 26 or S&W sheild 9mm.

Since you trust SIG firearms- you should research the p365 a bit more since they have had some reported issues, and Sig is now on the 3rd generation of P365 pistols.

I am not a Sig man myself - the P365 may be a very good pistol, but then again if it is not right for you, then you may have to look for another standby.

As I've said if pocket carry is not an issue, and you don't have a problem carrying a G19 size pistol, I myself don't understand going to a small firearm, even tho I do know how to shoot and present the smaller G26.

There's no perfect gun, they all have there +/-, go with what you plan to have on you / close next to you, and what has a record for being reliable, then go and practice.

    Good luck

      Try this

      I'd give it a miss.
From your experience you won't practice as much as you should
And, drawing it in a hurry when needed looks like an issue.

Get a used Glock 42 which is small yet comfortable and shoots well.

Or the S&W MP mentioned earlier.

thanks - im not a SIG guy either, why i've bought 3 in the last 3 months is beyond me, but, im very happy with them - in 40 years of gun ownership never owned one until the last few months

i've done my due diligence with the P365 - pretty sure i've watched every video out there both pro and con

i'm very familiar with the firing pin breaking problem, supposedly they cured that by switching to a steel firing pin or improved the MIM mixture, not sure which - the barrel peening was fixed and as far as the front sight issue, seems like it very minimal

and, while the primer drag still does exist, that's not affecting the performance of the gun, if necessary a aftermarket steel firing pin would solve that issue too, plus, it's not uncommon among the smaller firearms to have primer drag - as long as it doesn't lead to the breaking of the firing pin it's a non issue

i've read comments by people who are swearing to anywhere from 2000 rounds to 5000 rounds through their P365 and no issues and while a problem did exist it looks like SIG may have finally got it right - i too, was waiting for more positive reviews

just got that never ending itch

Ya know firearms are a tool ( in SD terms ), and tools can have problems / failures at any time, and it looks like Sig is trying to correct those issues.

I like you an a long time gunner, and I have bought firsthand just to have, right now I am good - but if that need is there then scratch it.

I bought my sheild ( over another glock ) just because I thought it was alright, I bought a CZ p-01 not because I liked it, but because my Pops had CZ's ( I do like it tho - I feel like such a Traitor, sorry Glock). Sometimes gong on a hunch will surprise us..

There's no right or wrong here buddy, sometimes it's good having access to a small gun, I'm looking at buying a naa 22 magnum mini revolver, so go and see if that Sig still feels good, if it does - buy it.

          Best of luck

i don't know what to say to that

i've walked away from many guns, my Uncle wanted to GIVE me a Taurus PT92 but i just didn't like it even though it was just like my Beretta 92fs - go figure

all i can admit is that for some reason in my mind i keep going back to that P365, even visited the Sig forum for updates on some of it's issues

              i think it's gtg now

Scratch that itch or you'll be tossing and turning every night.

Some of my firearms were bought in the same situation you're in now. Sold some, kept some.

Life is short so be happy and get what you want as long as you have the dough and not breaking the bank.

I think that you should buy it. You can always buy something else as well later. Maybe the FN 509?

Really like mine. Carry it everyday. Easy to conceal and 10+1 and 12 as a backup is plenty if ever needed. Shield and PPS M2 are nice but never leave the house. Mine has been totally reliable. YMMV.
