Question about sending guns out for service.

Want to send a couple of barreled actions out to be threaded. Do they need to go through an ffl on the way back?
Has anyone done this? Who did you use?

'Why not take them to Randall in sfv and wait till done no shipping involved. He is ar15 on here.not by law. Some require shipping from ffl. Cheapest for long guns is usps. Possibly ffl you are shipping to can provide prepaid shipping labels.

Firearms can be shipped TO an FFL by the owner of the firearms.
The FFL can then ship them back to the owner.

I can thread your barreled actions while you wait if you schedule a day/time to come over to my shop.

        Go to Randall. It's easier.
If you have a brake already. He can time it also.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

FFL is only required for an ownership transfer.

Is this true for both intra- and interstate?

FFL is required in CA for ALL transfers of firearms.
FFL is required on one end when a firearm is shipped/mailed across state lines.
FFL is required when a firearm will spend a night at the gunsmiths shop.
FFL is required when a person makes his living by working on firearms.

Pack it up, give it to UPS to send to the receiving FFL. They'll pack it up and ship it directly back to you.

I have sent a number of them using the USPS. Never a problem!
I had UPS "lose" one of my NIB 50bmg rifles and they did nothing but excuses for several weeks until the ATF got involved. Then they "found" it within 3 days. It ended up in Chicago(with my address label still on it) but it had been used. Had to go back to the manufacture to be redone before I could get it.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.
