So watching Live PD tonight. Noticed them in Franklin County, OH. Came across a stop on a security guard, where officers found Black Talons. The officers begin going over how they were referred to as cop killers.

I don't know the full history, but weren't black talons basically like good hollow points for the time? They said on show that it was known to go through body armor.

Just thought it was interesting is all.

The left has generated a great deal of confusion about bullets. At first, "cop killer" bullets were supposedly any bullet that was Teflon coated; this later morphed to include bullets like Black Talon or any other bullet type the liberals found scary.

IIRC, Black Talon was designed to mushroom quickly on impact. I suspect this makes it less than ideal for penetrating body armor.

It's a great round, but the Libtards got their panties in a wad over the sharp pointed petals after expansion and the "Black" designation.
Winchester then replaced it with the SXT bullet which does not have the black coating.
The engineers at Winchester refer to the SXT ammo as "Same eXact Thing".
