Old 22 lr shotshell that look like a mini shotgun shell?

Was at a gun show yesterday and a guy had a vintage ammo collection. He would only sell it as a set and their was one that I wanted. Someone please let me know where I can find at least one round. It looked like a shotgun shell red plastic on the out side small brass at the bottom in 22 lr. It was a tad bigger then today's modern cci shotshell. I 've looked all over the net with no luck someone here please help me out thanks

Mossberg sold a .22 shotgun called the Tango back in the day that came with mini clays. It was marketed for kids to shoot. It had a threaded adapter that would add a few inches (6-10 I think, cant remember) to convert the smoothbore .22 to a rifle so it could (somewhat) stabilize a .22LR. I was told it was marketed in Boy's Life magazine (boy scouts magazine) mail-order for kids to buy and shoot on their walks to and from school lol I dont know how accurate that is but it seems realistic for its time. I wonder if it could have been for that gun.

The guy just had one round of it in a mix of vintage 22 ammo. I was hoping to find at least one round would like to display it. If anyone has a vid of the gun shooting the ammo please send it would love to see this stuff in action. After looking at the 5mm shotshell it could have been this. I'm looking for a pic to compare its size to a 22lr

In the early 1960's a new sport arose that was supposed to be the new best thing. The new sport was called "Claybirding". It used a miniature clay pigeon and a .22 shot shell. An article that I dug up in the 1962 Shooters Bible said it was going to sweep the nation because it was cheaper and needed more skill. What happened?

Yes I remember shooting these using plastic break apart pigeons when I was a kid at scout camp.

Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.
