Would it look strange if you parkerized the firearm?
Parerizing is not that difficult to do very well at home.Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Another option is brownells sprays- the air cure are not as strong as the ones you bake- heat cure
Alumnahyde and alumnahyde 2(air cure)Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

I’ve had great results with the birchwood Casey gel. But you do need at least 3 applications to get a deep blue.
I also use gunkote bake on paint, but that requires a sand blaster to do the surface prep correctlymy Benitez goes to 11Comment

More work but more durable
Mark Lee Express Blue
Shop gunsmithing tools (589) at Brownells, including bench blocks, hammer & punch sets, screwdrivers, and tool kits for firearm maintenance and repairs.
You could boil it per the directions, or once it's brown, convert to black/blue with a cold blue
You can even re-heat and reapply easily

I did the bluing on my SG. but it didnt solve the rust problem as I hunted lots of damp weather. Kept rusting so I painted it. Still good as new today, even after 20 years ago. Not saying bluing is bad, just that itll rust again, sooner or later.Originally posted by GottmitunsIt's not protecting the rights of the 1%, it's IMPOSING new laws because of the 1%.Comment
