    Top break with DA

I am looking to get a top break but double action. I know of H&R 999, but are there other .22s or other calibers and guns I can get?

Pretty limited for DA top breaks. Only modern top break I know of was the Russian MP412 REX, which unfortunately, we will never see. As stated, a Webley is about all I can think of. Would be nice if someone came out with a new top break revolver.

I'd suggest you look for Iver Johnson top break revolvers if you have problems finding a Harrington and Richardson that you like.

Before Harrington and Richards (also known as H&R and later became the New England firearms company, which was also known as N.E.F.) Iver Johnson was making some quality top break revolvers, , in multiple calibers. The problem is today that the .38 (short or long) and the .32 caliber (short or long) that they used in their revolvers isn't being produced enough to make it relatively inexpensive like .38 Special is.

So that means you are relegated to 22 long rifle.
The good news is if you like that caliber you can pick up Iver Johnson or Harrington and Richards top break revolvers at a lot less than you pay for a Smith & Wesson of the same era.

They were made to function and a lot of them still shoot great. They might not be as stylish and as well-known as the Smith & Wesson but they are well made firearms compared to some other Saturday night specials that came along in the 70s.

I also believe Iver Johnson and Harrington and Richards both have 8 or 9 round 22 caliber top break revolvers. I'm not sure Smith & Wesson ever had that "high capacity" in their 22 caliber top break revolvers.

I thought of two more top breaks that are more recently manufactured or still being manufactured, just in case you like to have a Firearms manufacturer standing behind the product if something breaks or parts that are easily obtained. Although I will say most of the Iver Johnson and Harrington Richardson models were made in great numbers so getting parts to repair those older revolvers usually isn't a problem either especially now with the internet.

The first one is my pic if I wanted a modern top break it's the NAA (also known as North American Firearms) model of Ranger 2. I like it because it is all stainless steel, that's something you won't find in any other top break. And the many reports of that company making a quality product AND right here in the USA in Utah are a few things I look for when buying newer firearms.

The other one I thought about and that someone right above this post has already recommended, is a clone copy of the Schofield revolver ( I think it's main market is being used in cowboy shoot events).
it's shoots a centerfire round and a bigger caliber than the .22 revolvers I have been recommending but it's also more expensive, like the Webley's and Enfield's mentioned above.

If you knew what caliber you were thinking about buying or your intended purpose for the pistol, it would help people recommend other possibilities.

              "Schofield" top-break revolvers are SAO.

Enfield, H&R, Iver Johnson, and Webley top-break revolvers are DA/SA.
              ^These are all C&R.

Koishikawa Arsenal top-break revolvers are DAO.
              ^These are all C&R.

There are no current production top-break DA/SA or DAO revolvers available in the USA.

I thought you negotiated an excellent plea deal with the District Attorney.

                Ambiguous thread title.
