I'm going to celebrate by purchasing something that would most likely irritate him. Thinking Ruger PC carbine, mostly because someone went a little overboard with Christmas for the grandkid's, and the M1a is a bit out of reach at the moment.

Its unlikely that Newsome really cares one way or another about guns, except for the publicity it gets him. If there aren't votes or photo ops in it for him, then he probably doesn't care. Same for global warming, education or child molestation. No publicity for him, no interest from him.

Newsom's grandfather committed suicide with one, and threatened to kill his mother with one.

He's stated he hates guns for those reasons.

Unconstrained by reason, he's more dangerous in the short term than Governor Brown who refused to sign the SB-374 featureless ban because he feared the resulting court challenge bringing down California's other assault weapon laws.

Long term, he's more likely to overstep.

Well, I was saving for the Ruger PC Carbine but a Smith and Wesson Model 60 (no dash) came my way and is going into gun jail tomorrow. It took my stash of cash away for a while.

I have a thing for Smith and Wesson revolvers.
