Rant Crapping in a vendor's forum

I'm sorry, but why is it if somebody post a question, if a vendor has a item in the vendor's own forum and then somebody will suggest someplace else. It is rude, please Pm the poster with how wonderful the other place is.
PS I am not a vendor.

You can go to the post, click the little red and white triangle in the upper right corner, and report it as threadcrapping. The mods are pretty good about taking care of that stuff.

Yes that can be done but it would be better is it did not happen. Not my thread so I would not feel right about reporting it.

Happens too often - I do believe that some are just watching out for others - But it should be accomplished discreetly -

I understand the intent is good but a PM does the job. Thanks

Face it, no matter what thier interest or hobby, some people just simply have NO class. The real gripe is that when you point it out to them, they loudly demonstrate how little class they have. After so many years on the planet, I simply nod to myself and quietly say "yep, no class," and then ignore them - they can't be helped.

So it's wrong if I'm in a gunshop with a buddy and suggest to him that the shop down the street has a better deal that will save him $100?

This is business: sponsors spend money because they want to make money. Consumers want to save money. The whole point of a forum is to discuss these sorts of things, and whether or not it's a sponsor subforum shouldn't matter.

However, I do agree that if you feel compelled to chime in, a PM is the better way.

I think you understand saving your buddy money good thing, announce to everybody in the shop it is cheaper down the street, not good.

Vendor's mod their own forums and can clean up as they see fit. If I was a vendor and someone did that to me repeatedly I would ask they be excluded from my forum.

A vendor's forum is their place to advertise. If a vendor posted up a billboard on the side of the road and you went and spray painted over it, "You can get this cheaper at Walmart." Yes that would be wrong.

You are more than welcome to post up about good deals in a new thread in the same forum or over in the specific centerfire, rimfire, handgun, or shotgun forums. However, in the seller's thread is bad form. Period.

So the point is your behavior is appropriate if posted in the correct forum. In a vendor's for sale forum is never appropriate.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

This makes perfect sense. So with your post in mind shouldn't this thread be moved to your forum, since your advertising something for sale.

I don't mind people posting things about sales elsewhere in a public forum. But doing it in a vendor's thread, or on a vendor's own personal/business forum is freakin rude. I would flag it in a public forum, and ban the user in a private one.

If you read the first post, mine, I posted a general commet and it had nothing to do with tenpercent so please do not dump on him. Once again, I am not a vendor but find it rude that people will suggest a different vendor in the vendor's forum. Guy wants a item and somebody knows where to get it, PM the poster.

If you actually read my post and clicked the link you'd see I wasn't dumping on him. I think you've beat your point to death.
