Walmart #1910 is not selling ammo right now

I don't know the real reason why or for how long it'll be but if you live in or near Del Norte County and don't already have a large stash of ammunition you will probably feel the effects. A longtime WM employee suggested I go over the border to buy ammo in Oregon. I dont think he knew that is against the law now..

Curious if other CA walmarts have suddenly stopped selling ammo and if it is simply temporary or for good. With the upcoming background checks mandatory by June or July 2019 it's probably not too lucrative for WM to keep selling ammo to us. I hope I'm wrong, but maybe they will give us all a good clearance price to get rid of what's in stock, Lol!

      Wrong section... but to answer.

Walmart did the same thing last year. Stopped selling about week or so prior to the new year until they figured out what’s legal. I figure with the implementation of background checks mid yr Walmart will throw in the towel early.

Plenty of ammo down here in the San Diego Walmart’s.

Santa Ana Walmart hasn't sold ammo for years.........I first went in there about 5 years back and when I went into the sporting goods section I couldn't find the ammo......so I found a guy and asked where it was.......He said they don't stock it.....When I asked why.......he looked at me and kinda went....."Uhhh, cause its SANTA ANA"

I wondered after that.....are there Walmarts in Compton or Inglewood, and do THEY sell ammo?

Maybe the person(s) authorized to sell ammo are getting their COEs renewed. Weren't they required to have one to sell beginning Jan. 1, 2018?

                    Funny,
Ammo Bros in Santa Ana sells plenty..

Seems like each WalMart makes up their own policies on guns/ammo. No real company mandated policy,

Just to clarify, buying in Oregon is not illegal at all. Importing into CA is illegal. Since possession in CA is not illegal either, the burden of proof is a bit more complicated than just proving that a person has a stash.

When the first prosecutions happen, we will know how the anti-gun DAs plan to play the game. This, of course, unless the law get stricken by courts.

My understanding is they stop selling before new years and 4th of July... been like that since i was a kid I thought

Los Angeles on Wednesday became the first city in the nation to ban the sale of ammunition for one week before New Year's Eve and the Fourth of July.

As for the OP maybe the guy they have that is allowed to sell ammo quit or went on vacation.
