    how hard is it to "make a gas port"?

    a barrel extension can be installed,right?

          If the "gas hole" is drilled it has a gas port. If they are already chambered mounting a barrel extension may not give the correct head space due to tolerances. The chances of lining up the port and the extension at TDC correctly with the correct head space is almost zero.
          If it lines up go get a lottery ticket because you just got lucky.

          Unless you have a machine shop and just want to play around these should be passed over.
