Just a post of the stuff I got this black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals. Damn rain today kept me from going to Angeles.
Picked up my Ruger Carbine and man it feels solid and true. Only complaint is I was dumb and didn't specify for threaded, oh well. Funny thing is I double checked before I left Turners and it didn't have the Glock Mag insert in the box (WTF, they said Ruger must have not shipped it with the box, I called B.S., but they took one from another box and gave it to me). For this rifle I bought 4 magpul g19 mags and they seated just fine. The SIG Romeo 5 I got for it with the equipped riser mount works perfect as through the open table mount I can still utilize the iron sights. Not sure if I'll keep this set up as my head needs to leave the intended cheek weld to use the red dot.
I also picked up the Springfield XD9 which I got as part of the $300 deal with any centerfire rifle purchase. All I can say now is that after handling a glock for awhile it sure feel nice and slim. Also need to do the Mail In offer for 3 free mags.
Also ordered a Vortex 3x Flip Mount magnifier. used the included riser so it was better centered on the Eotech. Mounted it reverse for the right side flip out and even with it pretty much up to the Eotech housing can still reliably activate the push button. I noticed a little slop when in position which I am not sure is by design, I doubt it, but had some Velcro dots lying around and put the soft felt side on the mount and unit and now fastens securely with no slop. I have astigmatism so the reticle does have a little star effect indoors but looks fine shooting outside. With the magnifier it's crisp and beautiful, can't wait to take it out.
So now all I am waiting for are a few things for the ARs. Have been waiting for a chance to get some new triggers. Doing some research and budgeting found the Rise Armament 240 3.5lb drop in trigger. Optics Planet had it for $129 with a free RA Extended latch charging handle...grabbed two. Also bought two sets of KNS Mod 2 Anti Rotational pins. Last was 3 one piece molded grip fins for featureless. The MIAD griped ones with the thumb shelf were cool and all but the 3D printed design I found was to weak in a sense that it could break off. Already lost 2 of the thumb shelf. Not a knock at all on the fabrication because it was semi new product when I bought them.
